ENTERPRISE PROGRESS MANAGEMENT®

Enterprise Progress Management® (EPM) is an integrated management mechanism to achieve maximum implementation performance of strategies, projects and operations

Management Mechanisms and Structures for High-Performance

As a rule, the problem most companies have is not one of knowledge but of implementation. They have a clear strategy and well-defined goals; the fields of action for the future have been identified. What is lacking is maximum implementation strength, the power to implement a wide range of issues efficiently and sustainably.

This does not mean that organisations have lost the ability to operate their business models professionally. The reality is that today’s market requires faster, meaningful reactions to new customer needs, changing political conditions or unreliable supply chains.

The supposedly simple solutions, the “low hanging fruits”, have long since been exhausted. Often new solutions are required which sales, production, service or IT departments cannot develop on their own because they are not in control of the entire end-to-end process.

Operational implementation tasks are increasingly landing on the desks of CEOs, executive management boards, administrative departments and their advisers, while individual departments lack the ability to find and implement holistic answers which also include their up- and downstream value creation stages.

Enterprise Progress Management® helps organisations to find the right answers to their challenges; operationalise them and mobilise all their energy for measurable progress – at high speed.

ENTERPRISE PROGRESS MANAGEMENT® IS BASED ON THREE CORE PRINCIPLES

Enterprise Progress Management® is a hands-on management mechanism developed to master the complex implementation challenges faced by organisations. EPM® is built on thinking in terms of target statuses, while its methodology generates clarity and commitment where previously there were only many different opinions.

A consistent results orientation and focus on achieving measurable progress in short periods of time make it possible to handle even large tasks in the right way. ProgressMaker® helps your organisation to generate faster, better implementation successes when using the excellent Enterprise Progress Management® system.

The focus is on three core principles – emotional traction, success focus and progress orientation.

Emotional Traction

From push to pull management: Develop emotional traction to achieve target statuses

SUCCESS FOCUS

From activity to results management What counts is the “what will be different and why?”, not the way we steer the “how”

PROGRESS ORIENTATION

Disciplined progress management Generate output- and outcome-focused progress in short cycles

Structure + Discipline = Success

As a rule, the problem most companies have is not one of knowledge but of implementation. They have a clear strategy and well-defined goals; the fields of action for the future have been identified. What is lacking is maximum implementation strength, the power to implement a wide range of issues efficiently and sustainably.

Thinking in Terms of Target Statuses

Have you ever wondered why Peter Miller invests so much love and commitment into tinkering with his classic car in his free time, devoting many hours to working on it?

Does Peter Miller really need Gantt charts, milestones, tracking, controlling and all the rest when he’s doing this? No! Peter Miller has a clear vision of his goal; this target image is what motivates him. “Emotional driving force” is a key criterion for successful, sustainable enterprise progress management.

Emotionalisation

The task is to focus on the “why” and the “what”, not the “how”. Genuine enterprise progress management concentrates on emotionality in two areas –

  1. Careful thinking through of target statuses: What will the status be when a measure has been completed? Which specific aspects will be different?
  2. Aspiring to target statuses with clarity

The target status or the target image must be broken down into manageable components (jigsaw pieces) to define individual statuses in more detail

Progress Orientation

The human anticipatory horizon does not generally allow us to be on fire for an issue if the target is more than three to six months in the future. Activities are thus divided into sprints which should not last more than three or six months at most.

Equipped with clear target images, activities are measured in a disciplined, structured manner every month using output and outcome parameters to achieve the target status.
